Here are a few photographs of my first ever 1940's suit, bought for £8 from
a local charity shop, it has to be one of my favourite purchases to date,
it fits like a dream! However I haven't worn it for months due to the
original zipper on the skirt busting. Since my new years resolution was
to try and work through my overflowing draws of repairs I dug the
suit out Thursday night and set to work on fitting a new zip. Twenty
minutes later and its as good as new! I wore it out to dinner with my old
colleagues and great friends from Rokit, Kirsty and Tana. It was a really
lovely evening, apart from the table behind us who seemed to couldn't
stop gawking in shock at our outfits, easily amused!

Suit, belt, hat and hat-pin, all from charity shops.

love it, absolutely gorgeous suit hun! xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful suit. Lucky you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Guys! Unfortunately there was no one in to take a full length picture, so you can't see it as well as I would have liked, maybe I'll get the other half to take one this evening! x
ReplyDeleteLove the hat, love the suit. Very Lauren Bacall. Good finds!
ReplyDeleteYou look dashing! Very elegant:) Also I like what I can see of your home, like the weasel and the skull, I actually think I have the same one, but in a larger format, is it a lady and a gentleman sitting at a table if you look closely?
ReplyDeleteThanks Ladies! It is the picture you are thinking of. I would love a bigger print, mine is just a small post card my boyfriend found in portugal. I have a lot of odd curios about the house, my little taxidermy stout is one of my favourite, she has a diamond collar! Maybe she will get her own blog post soon xx
