A ball of a time!

So in January I made a new years resolution to start swing dancing. I started in February and haven't looked back since! Its one of my favorite things to do and I'm completely addicted! On Saturday I performed with all the lovely dancers from Dalston swing patrol at the 'performance ball'.

Along with Harriett and our gorgeous friend Ruth we primped, curled and powered all the lovely Dalston ladies.

Me at 'Camp fabulous'.
I'm wearing a early forties dress that I borrowed from Harriett.

All this glamour (plus two other ladies!) took us about four hours and they all looked amazing!

As a (errr) special treat to you all, here's a video of me dancing with my (very patient!) partner Luke and all the other fabulous dancers.  Try not to concentrate on all my mistakes! We're second from left at the front.

If anyone was thinking about taking up swing dancing - I seriously urge you to! Its an amazing hobby, I'm fitter than ever and I've met so many wonderful people.

Enjoy all!

Love Aimee xx

Lots of thanks to my teachers and Melissa, Jamie, Anna, Luke for all their kind help and everyone else for being so damn fabulous!

  5. Oh no wayyy! I went to a whole bunch of swing patrol lessons while I was in London - and also social dancing. So bummed I didn't bump into you! And unfortunately I left last week and JUST missed the big ball.

Looks like you had an incredible time!

@Charlotte - I dance at Dalston on wednesday with Swing patrol. They have beginners classes at 8.15. But if you won't be living near there, they have classes all over London :)

  12. yay, so glad more people are getting into swing dancing! The routine looked great, and so did all the ladies - I can't imagine making up all those women in only 4 hours! Can't wait to see more. :)

  13. Oh I am soooooo sooo envious! I went along to a class or two at hte 100 club with Simon Selmon and the Saturday night swing club (with the taster classes. And because I am a saddo, but quick at picking up routines, watched lindy and charleston videos on you tube!) around 7 times but because I am a teacher and because of playing with orchestras, I have never managed to make a proper committment to doing it weekly- I would love to but I am always so exhausted and grumpy with the children if I have too late a night!). I adore it when I do it! You look magnificent in the video!!!! Some day, I will make it to a weekly session! You all look stunning!
