Party Hard

A few moons ago we found ourselves swanning around 'Die Freche Muse'. An event that promises a 'irreverent, decadent, sexually ambivalent & dissolute.' time in a speak easy in Dalston.

We had a fun time at 'Die Freche Muse', although we found the night perhaps a little pretentious. I'm all up for vintage nights but '1920's and 30's' wear 'strictly enforced' always throws me a little. Especially when there was minimal authentic clothing anyway.

Harriett wore her beautiful 30's showgirl outfit with vintage feathers and I wore a 30's slinky gown with Harriett's lovely 30's headpiece.

We really enjoyed the entertainment. Fabulous drag acts resembling Greta Garbo and this lovely lady.

The drinks were also super cheap (always a plus!). Unfortunately there was a distinct lack of men as usual apart from the ones dragged along by a female friend celebrating a birthday.

Would we go again? Yes. Is £10 (advanced) a bit on the steep side? Perhaps, but what club isn't £10 these days.

Lots of love Aimee xx

  1. Lovely pictures. And you both look fabulous, as always. I've come to expect these kinds of nights to be even higher up the steep side than £10 so that's not too bad, especially if the entertainment was good... and the drinks cheap!

  2. Well seeing as we have nothing like that around here at all, I'd gladly pay the equivalent in USD for a night such as that. Though sans pretentiousness as you you mentioned would be better, but I suppose beggars can't be choosers. ;)

    You both look divine!

  6. How great!! I'm with Tasha-- I'd kill for any sort of a vintage night 'round here; alas, I seem to be the only full-on vintage lass in my [veryyy rural] area. You both look amazing; I love that feathered headpiece, what a stunner!

  12. Both hairpieces are stunning! Have you seen the movie "Under the Biltmore Clock" with Sean Young? There are a few party scenes in it that remind me of this event. I think you would love the fashions. I found the hairpieces to be my favorite part of the movie. I posted about the movie on my blog- http://tartdeco.blogspot.com/2010/04/under-biltmore-clock-flapper-fashions.html
