Hey all, so I thought I'd share the snaps I took over the last few days. On Friday I graduated with a degree in English literature with creative writing. I had a great day. I really thought it wouldn't bother me, but sitting down with all my peers in silly hats made me realise how hard I'd worked for the last eighteen years.
Me and Erika (check out her new fabulous blog) thought it was definitely appropriate to take silly vogueing photos of us in our robes.
Blue steal!
I'm wearing my robes with a beautiful 1940s crepe gown that Harriett bought me from 'Hope and Harlequin' for Christmas and a 1940s handbag that Erika bought me for Christmas from Spitalfields antique market.
Magnum!
The next day I went for a walk with my new boyfriend Sam (I know, weird) and took some fancy pictures much to his amusement.
Here I'm trying to look all elfy. It didn't really come over as that graceful, oh well!
I'm wearing a 1930s nightgown from eBay, 1930s teddy underneath from eBay, socks from primark, shoes from Office via eBay and flowers from a bush!
This fabulous necklace was my graudation present from my parents. Its an original 20s necklace made from Lapis lazuli which I collect. It has beautiful enamel detailing and I adore it!
On this day I also brought Sam to record and vintage indoor market near my parents house. I bought a Devo record, a kimono and a 1960s dress from a charity shop. Treat!

Hope you've enjoyed these photos! Stay fabulous.

DeleteI love the 40s gown with your graduation robes! I wore a 50s dress for my high school graduation :)
ReplyDeleteYou need to photograph the new boy accessory, clearly. Now cover up, it's nippy. x
ReplyDeleteNippy?! Have you looked outside?!! x
DeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics as always. And Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYay! Graduating! Man, I can't wait to be finished. I've been at school for 20 years! TWENTY YEARS! SHIT A BRICK!!! I also do literature. But I can't really right awesome stories. You should share something with us one day, accompanied by a delightful series of photographs. Preferably more of you being an un-graceful elf. Though I enjoy them all of course!
ReplyDeleteFabulous graduation outfit! I wore a velvet suit to mine, tho' we had VERY restrictive regulations on jewellery (and no bags!). Also... I HAVE THOSE GOLD SHOES! They are wonderful, and I've just ordered some similar red ones from Golden Ponies, hoping to replicate the Office success in another colour. Such wearable heels!
ReplyDeleteLove the 1930s nightgown! ^^
ReplyDeleteExciting times! New boyfriend feeling is always strange and good. I had those Office shoes in plain black, and wore them so much that I completely trashed them.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, I read this blog post and though it was very Bright Young Twins-

ReplyDeleteI have to ask, what is the brand and shade of lipstick in your graduation photo? I have been looking everywhere for a darker red like that.
ReplyDeleteIts either black raspberry or blackberry by Bobbi Brown. I have two that are very similar, it could be either one :) x
