Hunters giveaway with Simply Hike

Hey lovelies, remember that post I done with the fabulous people at Simply Beach? Turns they have a fabulous sister website called Simply Hike which sells Camping equipment and Hunter Wellingtons. Hunters have been around since 1856 delivering amazing style, practicality and comfort to the English country lady.

Both me and Harriett have a pair of Hunters which we wear to festivals (soon to be seen at Reading '12 WOOOWOOO), rainy days and walking round the countryside when we visit Harriett's hometown.

The only way to do festivals is 40s factory style. Word.

So we're THRILLED to be able to give away a pair of Hunters in Navy in your size (4-11) worth £79 to give you serious retro country appeal. The competition finishes VERY soon; on the 31st at 9pm. So enter now!

These days...

Hey all, so I thought I'd share the snaps I took over the last few days. On Friday I graduated with a degree in English literature with creative writing. I had a great day. I really thought it wouldn't bother me, but sitting down with all my peers in silly hats made me realise how hard I'd worked for the last eighteen years.

Me and Erika (check out her new fabulous blog) thought it was definitely appropriate to take silly vogueing photos of us in our robes.

Blue steal!

I'm wearing my robes with a beautiful 1940s crepe gown that Harriett bought me from 'Hope and Harlequin' for Christmas and a 1940s handbag that Erika bought me for Christmas from Spitalfields antique market.

Magnum!

The next day I went for a walk with my new boyfriend Sam (I know, weird) and took some fancy pictures much to his amusement.

Here I'm trying to look all elfy. It didn't really come over as that graceful, oh well!

I'm wearing a 1930s nightgown from eBay, 1930s teddy underneath from eBay, socks from primark, shoes from Office via eBay and flowers from a bush!

This fabulous necklace was my graudation present from my parents. Its an original 20s necklace made from Lapis lazuli which I collect. It has beautiful enamel detailing and I adore it!

On this day I also brought Sam to record and vintage indoor market near my parents house. I bought a Devo record, a kimono and a 1960s dress from a charity shop. Treat!

Hope you've enjoyed these photos! Stay fabulous.

Oh and I also got me a new job working in a museum shop, yay!

Where the Hell has Harriett been?

Under a rock? Swimming through the Hackney cannel pretending to be a mermaid?
If I am honest my absence from this blog has been down to... the big D... depression.
Does anyone else ever feel blue? It always surprises me even in these modern times
how taboo the issue of anxiety and depression can be, considering how many of us
will have to deal with these monsters at some point in our lives. Ever since my tender teenage years I have suffered from a catalogue of seriously shit mental health issues and lately I have been feeling pretty under the weather so I apologise for my lack of input into our little internet space.

However there are ways of dealing with these crushing insercurities. Partying worked pretty well for a while, and by god did I party. But that shit is expensive and takes its
tole on your body. So this past week I have been trying to find alternative pick me ups to battle the blues.

I've been doing my hair all fancy, using a charming tutorial that I found
through our link stats, unfortunately I can't locate it now to link you guys,
I can't even remember the name of the blog *hopeless* if anyone knows
which tutorial I am yacking on about help a lady out!

I bought a new hat. £2 from a charity shop on Marestreet. It's a ring
of glorious fox fur, I'm guestamating from the late 60's/ early 70's.

And most importantly I got a frickin CAT. His name is Jean Cocteau
(French Artist/Poet/ General Badass) he is 6 months old and I totally love him.

Even when he fucks up all my knitting yarn.

So there you have it, the few things that have helped me to keep treading
water over the past couple of weeks. I hope everyone else is feeling a little
more sunshine in their lives, and I promise I will be back to normal soon
with much more outfit posts and vintage know how.

Lots of Love

Harriett xx

I got stars in my beard and I feel real weird

Hey fabulous! So, we've still got part 3 of Berlin to go but I couldn't resist sharing our party! Last night Anna Bo turned 22 so we threw her a surprise wizard themed party at Harriett's place with close friends. There was copious amounts of alcohol, friends and glitter. We spent all day pinning up stars and streamers and I painted almost everyones faces.

Just before Anna's arrival....

Harriett, Danny and Erika.

David and Sam

Edvina, Katarina and Mary

These are the fabulous boys that Harriett lives with.

Josh, David and Sam.
Josh is wearing an amazing 60's psychy robe that Harriett got him in Berlin for his birthday.

MAGICAL POWERS

Thifted shirt, 70s shawl, Harriett's amazing edwardian skirt with very old feathers.

Then Anna arrived...we threw glitter all over her and played T. Rex really loudly!

SURPRISE!

Harriett made Anna a special hat and I took my shirt off.
