Queens of Vintage

Hey all, I just wanted to quickly share that we are the official last of the 100 Queens of Vintage. How cool is that? We're feeling pretty chuffed about it since we have been reading QoV before Bright Young Twins was just an apple in our collective eye.

Lots of love,
Aimee xx

Pssssst (beckons sausage finger and whispers) I hear Harriett's planning a BUMPER post.

Harriett's Spitalfields Market Stall: Thursday 13th September

Want to get your hands on some of my collection? Hell yes you do. If you are in
London this coming Thursday I will be holding a stall at Spitalfields Antiques
Market flogging a huge proportion of my top quality 30's-50's vintage clothing.
Honestly I am parting with of so much good stuff I think its time someone had me committed. There will be a suitcase filled of things for a fiver. THATS £5 LADIES!!!!! Aimee will be there providing support (nipping to the corner shop to buy me cans
of cider). There will probably be a whole host of other character who appear on
this blog from time to time also showing their attractive faces. I would love to meet
any readers that can make it down, so don't be shy, come and say hiiii!

This is what the market looks like, if you have never been, it's a lot of
tables with shit people are selling on them, but it's super cool old shit.

It's a pretty big market place and I am not sure where my stall will be but
I will wear an obnoxiously large hat so you cant miss me.

I sort of felt like this post needed another photo because its a tad on the wordy
side. So he is a snap of Aimee and I really pissed in Berlin. Don't say I don't ever
treat you.

See you at Spitalfields sexy people.

The Wild West

Heyheyhey! This post is an extended version of a guest post featured on Andi's blog,  check her out she's fabulous! You may have heard that a few weeks ago we had the olympics in London which was literally the only thing that anyone talked about. Me and my boyfriend Sam decided to escape the madness for a few days to visit  his home towns of Warminster, Bristol and Bath.

After visiting Sam's mum and gorgeous little sister in Warminster we visited Bristol and Bath all in a day.

A building in Bristol that Sam would quite like to own. Dream on kitten!

We headed to Bath after Sam found some records. I think I need a better guide to Bristol as I didn't really see anything I liked. That said, I hear Bristol is better at night.

As soon as we arrived in Bath I fell in love. For those who don't know, Bath was the pinnacle of  the Georgian/Regency period's social scene. Every part of Bath has been carefully curated to keep with the town's vibrant history.

I'm wearing
1960s dress from Beyond Retro
1940s silk flowers
Socks from primark
Bangles from Anna Bo
Shoes from office

I visited 'Vintage to Vogue' a fabulous vintage shop in Bath, so beautiful. Very expensive so nothing came home with me I'm afraid!

A gorgeous stationary shop.

Bath is littered with social history.

The Pump room.

Before heading off on this trip I was recommended a visit to Bath Thermae spa by my friend Rachy's mum. I'm a big ol' fan of saunas and it seemed only appropriate to visit a spa in Bath. I enjoy sweating everything out, I know thats kind of gross. But it's so cleansing and I feel all new after. I contacted the lovely people at the Spa and brought along my friend Alicia who's local to the area.

Along with the lovely staff and Alicia (who is a regular visitor) I steamed the crap out of my self and had some serious girl chats with Alicia whilst Sam hung out with some old friends.

The best part was seeing all of Bath from the rooftop pool.

We then had a posh dinner at the spa. I wish I could have taken photos as the gnocchi was the prettiest thing I've ever eaten. We then joined Sam at a party smelling like a million smackers! I had such a lovely time and I wish everyday was a spa day...sigh!

In the morning the trip was ended with a visit to the Royal Crescent, a famous piece of Georgian architecture built between 1767 and 1774. The crescent is so beautiful and I have to say I really did feel the urge to don a bonnet and get all 'Mr Darcy' in my boy's grill.

I had a fabulous time and was am so happy to now be connected to such a fabulous place. I can't wait to return!

See you soon kittens!

P.s. a big thank you to all the people at Bath Thermae Spa

Berlin take 3

552809_10151034696826285_306491575_n

Hey Ladies,
We've had this post lying around the drafts section for some time now. Partly because we miss Berlin so much it makes us sad to see the photos, but mostly because these photos were taken on three different outlets and were a bugger to resize. It still doesn't look too coherent but enjoy the juicy fruits of my labour!
P.s. If you've been wondering where Lady Harriett is, she's currently finishing some writing deadlines so wish her luck yeah?

This is the last post of our month long stay in Berlin, this is the week that Erika came to stay. FUCK YEAH. This must have been the day after the Holstinater arrived so we took her around the area and brought her shopping.

Erika likes books.

Harriett likes filth.

Harriett bought her filth and a 60s mini skirt from this crazy shop super close to Mauerpark but we can't remember the name.

We then took Erika to Bonanza Coffee which is the best coffee I've ever had.

In the evening we took Erika to the best sushi place ever.

Erika's sushi.

In the evenings we mainly partied at 8mm into the early hours. These photos mark a particularly late one when we stayed out until 10 am. Oh the Berlin way.

Two gins for the girls and a whiskey for me please Sir.

Harriett found this awesome 60s shirt at a flea market for like €1.

I'm wearing a 30s frilly chiffon top and black palazzos.

Three drinks later (drink in Berlin is literally half spirit) 'I loooove you baby, you are FLAWLESS'.

We got a bit dizzy.

But then Magnus and Emil came so we pulled ourselves back together for all of ten minutes.

We then went back to Emil and Magnus' apartment. We were informed that it was 'Bohemian' we all know that this means that there is a cupboard of dirty dishes and a conspicuous shower in the kitchen.

Said shower.

Me and Emil in a haze of moody black clothes at approximately 7 am.

Emil calls this cat 'Columbus' as its not actually their cat, it just likes adventures and discovery.

He hit the hay early, pussy.

We then retreated home to get our sorry arses into bed. But before we hit the hay, Harriett bet me she could get into my suitcase.

She was right.

On another day, I took Erika on a trip round central Berlin to do the touristy kind of stuff.

RAH!

This meant a return to the fabulous film museum which is one of my all time favourite museums. All you geeks may know a lot about silents in Berlin and we got to see original cameras and set designs. Theres also a permanent exhibition of Marlene Dietrich's clothes which is always lick-the-glass and cry worthy.

We saw this ad everywhere.

Da Capo vinyl

Me and Erika walked from Central Berlin back to Prenzlauger Berg. We walked past a garden with this huge elephant made out of bin bags.

It also had a little ticket booth. Weird.

This photo is taken in Mitte which is a beautiful part of town that I'd like to spend more time in.

Me and Erika went to the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm where Brecht put on a lot of his work.

We made out with Brecht....

Thank you for helping me bullshit my way through my playwriting class!

Seductive!

To mark the end of our holiday we went for sushi again.

We then swanned off to a wine bar decked out in late 50s 'atomic' design.

285666_10151034704756285_1538891648_n

The wine bar is a €2 service charge and then €2 for every glass.

Cheers to that!

198234_10151034705946285_885388168_n

Does anyone know this place? We don't know the name. We call it the €2 wine bar.

229820_10151034706251285_711298716_n

This is a little game we like to call 'doing a Dickens'. Pull strange face and raise candles.

577627_10151034706406285_262269909_n

'Jacob Marley???'

380278_10151034706541285_1181463288_n

'You're just an undigested piece of beef!'

'There's more of gravy than of grave about you,'

These most excellent drunk photos marks the rest of our holiday snaps. After the place closed we went to a play park played on the swings and went to NEU! bar.

I'm so glad that Erika joined us, especially since she's now going to live back in Sweden *CRIES*! I hope you guys enjoyed this post as it took me FOREVER! In a few days a guest post of mine will be featured on Andi's blog. YAY!

Lots of Love,

Aimee (and Harriett and Erika)
